Swim U Leawood offers a variety of swim programs for every level of swimmer. We start as young as 6 months in our Parent/Baby classes and go through age 12 with fitness swimming and stroke refinement, and we offer classes for kids of every age and skill level in between. We are here to help you as parents to get your non-swimming children to become swimmers and your already swimming children to become safer, stronger and more skilled swimmers.
Our classes run year-round and our indoor pool is always warm and inviting- even when it’s cold and dreary outside. It is a proven fact that children learn better, faster and retain their swimming skills longer when they are allowed to swim year-round, on a regular basis, rather than just putting in lots of pool time in the summer and then nothing the rest of the year. Now it’s possible and affordable to give that to your children.
Our lessons are not based on set sessions, you can join at any time and stay as long as you feel your child is still benefiting from swim lessons. We are always month-to-month, but many of our students will stay for years because they continue to progress and they enjoy their time here so much.
The monthly tuition is only $89 and includes once weekly 30 minute small group lessons. We offer 10% sibling discounts and discounts for coming more often than once per week.
We also offer semi-private or private lessons for special circumstances, and the fees for them will be quoted to you by your local manager if you want to explore that.
Swim U Swimesters
We have 10 different levels – we call them Swimesters. A Swimester is not a fixed period of time like a semester in school, but rather a level of swimming ability.
Here’s how our Swimesters work:
Swimesters 1-2: Parent/Baby Classes
Introduce your baby to swimming before they develop a fear of water. Wonderful bonding time for parent and child and great social time for baby and child alike…
Children 3 yrs and older will learn all the fundamental skills of basic swimming and water safety and will be able to enjoy swimming and feel a huge boost in self-esteem.
Children who have already developed the skills taught in Swimesters 3-5 will move on to more fully develop the major strokes of swimming. Their confidence in themselves and their swimming abilities will really expand during these Swimesters.
Children who have graduated after Swimester 8 can continue to refine their stroke technique and develop a healthy fitness swimming practice that will help them stay active, strong and healthy during these key growing years.
We guarantee that when your child graduates with a “Swim U Swim Degree” they will have learned the skills to be a safe swimmer for life.
